Omi Village

Omi Village is Jin Sakai's home town and the seat of Clan Sakai. This town is the players first glance at the second region of the game Toyotama and helps to establish Jin's connection to several key characters including Lord Shimura and Yuriko. Omi Village also acts as the game's combat tutorial area early in the game and for several key cut-scenes. We drew inspiration from the Last Samurai and the beautiful spring time flowers and colors native to Japan.

I worked alongside Dongjoon Lee and we split the work of layout, set dressing, and modeling the unique aspects of the space including the Sakai Estate. Colin Valek and Lisa Liao were responsible for the foliage respectively.
